Mark was a totally genuine guy with the most wicked sense of humour. I first met him at the RVT through friends & we clicked straight away. I remember when he came to me for some advice one afternoon saying he'd met this really great guy & he was getting funny feelings in his tummy so what should he do? I told him to just follow his heart & the rest is history. He told me months late that he & the adorable Jim were to be married. The date set was the 26th June 2010. I said they couldn't possibly do that because they'd hijacked my 50th birthday in doing so. We had a double celebration nonetheless with all our friends around us anyway. A wonderful day although I shall never forget the marriage ceremony at the Camden Town Hall for a reason that most attendees probably don't know about. They'd asked me to prepare a CD of their favourite songs for the ceremony, which I gladly did, but I shall never forget Jim's face when he asked Mark for the CD only to be told that he'd forgotten to bring it! His face went whiter than it already was but the minister saved the day & showed us a draw full of CDs that we could use. We quickly chose a few tracks & 'Stand By Me' replaced Bowie's 'Heroes'. We laughed about it later but he'll always be a hero to me. You could never say anything bad about Markie, which is quite a rarity in someone, but with him you really couldn't. I'm so glad I was able to be with him the day before he passed. We were in stitches, laughing as always, as we watched the tennis on TV that afternoon. The photo attached is of him at Wimbledon a few days before the wedding. We both love our tennis & we spent another memorable fun filled day together. He was an absolute diamond & I miss him so much. I'm glad to say he was indeed a true friend of mine. RIP my dear. Love you.
For all the best club nights on the dancefloor. R.I.P dear friend.
